Volunteer Opportunities

Welcome back to Hai Hua Arts Summer Camp! This year our dates are July 2nd - August 8th. We are currently accepting volunteer camp counsellor applications. 

 

Hai Hua Arts Summer Camp is in its 15th year! We provide campers ages 4 - 12 with arts-based classes, including Visual Arts, Crafts, Dance, Music, Chinese, and Modelling. However, those are not the only things our campers will be doing. We also have movie day, water park day, sports day, Blue party, and at the end of the camp, we will be hosting a show for the parents! Volunteers will have the opportunity to exercise their leadership and collaborative skills in this camp and get their hours in at the same time! We also provide references for future universities/jobs (under directors discretion).

St. Bernard of Clairvaux School

Hours: 

Morning Volunteers: 8:30am - 2:00pm

Afternoon Volunteers: 12:00pm - 6:00pm

 

Typically, volunteers will be placed in either morning or afternoon sessions. Exceptions will be made for full day volunteers or volunteers that have special requirements for adjusted times i.e. summer school, appointment, etc.

 

Lunch:

• Morning Volunteers are asked to either bring their own lunch, or order lunch with the camp at the discounted volunteer price of 6$ per lunch (Cash only). Lunch orders will take place at the beginning of each week. Snacks are not included. 

• Afternoon Volunteers are asked to eat lunch before arriving for their session. 

 

Volunteer Camp Counsellor Description:

Camp counsellors will be taking the lead on group activities and fun games, crafts, as well as prop and background design for our theme days! Most importantly we must ensure that campers are having a safe and fun time, meaning that camp counsellors will lead and accompany campers in their activities and assist the  teachers. Your tasks will depend on your skill set. Our only requirement is that you love working with children!

 

Due to the amount of volunteer applications we receive, we will try our best to adhere to preferred dates and times, however, there is no guarantee that you will be assigned all the dates/times that you select.
